You won’t want to miss this opportunity to join your colleagues from across Canada to attend MLC and National Forum!

Please peruse our pages to learn more and don’t forget to check back often for news and updates!

A special note about our logo:

The MLC and National Forum logo was created by Relish Branding, a Winnipeg company.  The waves represent the confluence of the two rivers, the Assiniboine and Red, at The Forks/La Fourche.  The Forks/La Fourche was an important historical meeting place in Canadian history, where people from Eastern and Western Canada would travel the rivers to meet in central Canada.  The Forks/La Fourche is still a popular gathering place today for tourists and locals, with shops, restaurants, patios, and local buskers.  The waves in the logo also represent the pages of an open book, with the blue above and below representing both the covers of the book and the notion of ‘looking back’ and remembering our history while ‘looking forward’ to a promising future.

We are excited to announce that the Manitoba Libraries Conference 2020 will take place April 6th and 7th at the Delta Winnipeg Hotel. This event will be followed by The Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA-FCAB) National Forum 2020 on April 8th.

The Program Committee invites you to submit a proposal showcasing your ideas, research, and library initiatives.

Proposals are being accepted for 50-minute sessions and 10-minute lightning talks. Lightning talk proposals should fit into a broad theme of advocacy, programming and/or partnerships.

Proposals that appeal to the cross-section of attendees are encouraged; however, all proposals will be reviewed and considered by the Program Committee.

The deadline for submissions is December 20, 2019. You will receive a response on or before January 31, 2020.
